A few weeks ago Garry Trudeau, creator of the comic strip Doonesbury, offered $10,000 for proof that George W. Bush served in the Air National Guard when he said he did. Here's the details of the challenge: Being the expert researcher / investigator that I am, I have found proof. I had to scour through mounds of top secret archives, question local authorities, and was chased by men in dark suits through shady alleyways to obtain this information. Do not treat it lightly. |

A. Man, it is. Just trust me! In the Doonesbury comic strip Bush is drawn as an asterisk (*) floating in space, sometimes with a hat. Here are a couple examples:

The humor is obviously enhanced by the fact that as an asterisk he's not really there (in body). Just as the accusations that he wasn't really there for duty. Got it now? | |
Q. Not Really. Did you score the cash?
|
|
A. Umm.. Yeah, of course! Trudeau is good on his word. Besides how could he deny evidence like that? |

Ok, you got me, it was a manipulated photo. I did get the $10,000 though. Don't tell Trudeau. |
