Honu Hawaii Activities -- Laie, HI 9/2005-Present
Started an e-commerce business, Honu Hawaiii Activities, with an associate. Honu Hawaii Activities is a booking agent for vacation activities and luaus throughout Hawaii. I created the branding, logo, business cards, etc.. and designed the website for Honu Hawaii Activities. The website is based on the osCommerce shopping cart. I learned PHP in order to modify the website to fit our needs both in functionality and visual design. As all aspects of running the business were shared between us. I also developed and honed skills relating to customer service, Search Engine Optimization, vendor relations, organizing and procuring contracts, bookkeeping, business development and strategy, negotiating... you name it.
In addition I continued to do freelance web and graphic design projects for my personal business, Shark Proof Designs.

Ensure that all media ties into central company branding. Ensure all media conveys to the public the image Hawaii Travel Network has established. HTN promotes and makes reservations for vacation activities throughout Hawaii.

Provide design for the U.S. Army Recruiting Command web applications. Work in a team environment to create web-based or CD based media to support Army Recruiters. Responsibilities were to conceptualize, design the look and layout of said projects as well as to execute the design. This includes creating graphics, designing and creating the user interface, organizing site layout and workflow, and scripting HTML markups for advanced “back-end” coding. Communicate with clients to provide desired results. Consolidate efforts with programmers to facilitate a smooth integration from design to code. (Note: Until 9/2003 I was a sub-contractor through Tek-Systems.)
